They’re easy to overlook, but the king has two, blue diamonds in his clothing pattern.

The first letter of the answer is “B.”

The “#” in the king’s crown indicate that you should get several numbers from the card. This is accomplished by counting aspects of the card that match each color of the “#”. The objects to focus on are quantities of diamonds depicted on the card. One tell for this is differing amounts of yellow diamonds in the axe handles. There are 2 blue diamonds, 15 yellow diamonds, 21 black diamonds, 14 white diamonds, and 4 red diamonds (including the smaller red diamonds under each “K”). Converting these numbers to letters with the A1Z26 cipher on the code sheet gives the answer: BOUND.
